After being honorably discharged he then completed his undergraduate studies at University of Maryland and went on to medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. After graduating medical school in 2008, Dr. Covant completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Covant then completed a fellowship in Emergency Medical Services at the University of Texas at Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He received his board certification in 2012, and has been working as an attending physician at Parkland Memorial Hospital. While in Dallas Dr. Covant had the honor and privilege of serving as the medical team manager for the Texas state Urban Search and Rescue team as well as the disaster medical strike team. He also served as the medical director for several fire departments in the Dallas Fort Worth Metropolitan area. Sean and his wife Kyoko are thrilled to return to Hawaii to live and work.
