Love Volkova, DO
Dr. Volkova moved with her family to Oahu in 2015 after completing her Emergency Medicine residency in Rhode Island. She briefly worked at Kaiser Moanalua before she joined HEPA in 2016.
Dr. Volkova grew up in Kiev, Ukraine and moved with her mom and sister to the East Coast in middle school. She earned her undergraduate degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience at Rutgers University in New Jersey. During college she attended UH Manoa for a semester, where she fell in love with the islands and the people of Hawaii and set out a goal to live here once she completed her studies.
She worked for a biotech company for a year after graduating college,
developing assays for research in Spinal Muscular Atrophy. After realizing her calling, she pursued the Osteopathic path that aligned with her ideals about healthcare and medicine. She attended Western University in Pomona, CA. During this time she returned to Hawaii for medical school rotations and was drawn to Emergency Medicine during her rotation at Waianae Coast Comprehensive on the West Coast of Oahu, and also met her osteopathic mentor on Maui, who was a tremendous influence. Since opening her Osteopathic private practice in 2022, she works in Emergency Medicine part time and practices Traditional Osteopathy the rest of the time. She also loves international medicine and hopes to continue taking medical volunteer trips to countries in need.
Dr. Volkova enjoys spending time with her family and friends,
decompressing from daily life in, and near the ocean, and hiking with her dog, Seven.
