Edward R. Ruhland, MD

Dr. Edward Ruhland grew up in Hilo Hawaii and after graduating from Hilo High School completed his undergraduate education at UC San Diego. After graduation and prior to Medical School he spent 2 years in the south pacific in the small island nation of Vanuatu. When that stint was over he moved to the North East and spent 5 years at Dartmouth College completing his MD/MBA. While at Dartmouth he met his wife Laura Ruhland who has also joined the HEPA staff as an Emergency Room Physician.

After their Medical Education, Eddie and Laura moved to providence Rhode Island where they completed their Emergency Medicine Residency. Eddie and
Laura started residency with a “5 year plan” to get back to Hilo and are thrilled to be home to continue their careers in Eddie’s home town.
