Daniel Coquyt, MD
Dr. Dan Coquyt was born in central Minnesota and attended Gustavus Adolphus College in southern Minnesota, where he studied Biology and Studio Art. After graduation, Dan worked as a medical scribe in the ED, sparking his passion for Emergency Medicine.
During this time, he also worked part-time as a Ramp Agent for Delta Air Lines, completing under-wing services for aircraft including guiding and parking aircraft, as well as loading and unloading cargo. With this job, Dan stumbled across a standby seat on a flight to Honolulu and fell in love with the people, culture, and landscape of Hawaii. Since then, he has enjoyed backpacking on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai, and has nurtured the dream of one day living in Hawaii. He is very excited to have the opportunity to call Oahu home.
Dan values friendships and completed his residency with a friend from college at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. In residency, he wrote a
monthly newsletter on the topic of wellness for healthcare providers. He has professional interests in medical tech and design, and is deeply interested in provider wellbeing and finding ways to improve provider wellness.
Outside of work, he loves spontaneous travel, any outdoor or ocean activity
(especially kiteboarding), and creating and sharing art on Etsy. He is always
excited to learn more about Hawaii and try new activities.
